Amazon also sells a similar ki t with amazing reviews. When taking that into account, this kit basically gets a 5/5 rating. By the way, I read all 52 reviews on the Costco website, & all of the negative reviews dealt with Costco’s shipping problems & not that actual tools themselves. I know there are other great products out there like Milwaukee, Makita, etc, but I can attest to the quality of the DeWalt line. If you are in need of a new drill set I HIGHLY recommend going with the DeWalt line. I’ve dropped them from 6 foot ladders (dumb, i know), left them outside, left them sitting in the room when sanding sheet-rock mud (like a dust bomb went off inside the tool) & done just about everything they tell you not to do at least once. I’ve had both drill for about 5 years and I have put some good wear and tear on them. Both of these drills from Costco are brushless which gives you better performance and longevity with your tools. but just know that these 2 drills are upgraded versions of the ones I have. I don’t want to get into all the specifications or comparisons about torque, speed, power etc. The ones you get in this kit are the DCD796 (1/2″ or 13mm cordless drill driver) & DCF887 (1/4″ or 6mm cordless impact driver). The 2 drills I own are the DCD780 (1/2″ or 13mm cordless drill driver) & the DCF885 (1/4″ or 6mm cordless impact driver). By no means am I an expert at ANY of these, but I probably do more than your average homeowner………jackass of all trades, master of none….HAAAA! I’ve done just about everything from electrical, plumbing, carpentry, sheetrock, painting, hanging doors, replacing windows, roof repair, HVAC, etc. I have a long line of Dewalt 20V tools and they are AWESOME! For your reference I am a homeowner that likes to do all the work around the house (at least what I am capable of). I normally only post about items I find in stores but I found this cordless drill kit online and really wanted to post about it. The only Dewalt item I recall seeing at Costco, was the shop vacuum.
